OK … Out of the box, the pedal sounds more like a fuzz box than an over-driven tube. There is no just-on-the-edge setting, just fuzz to mega-fuzz.

However – the BitMo 2BO mods totally change the gain structure and voicing of the pedal, properly driving the tube and making it sound much more like a juicy tube amp. You can go from an almost clean boost, through touch sensitive blues overdrive, classic rock crunch, to full-on singing distortion. The re-voiced (Vox-like) tone control is very useful too.

It’s hard to believe how great this little thing can sound with these simple mods. There are no dangerous voltages and the whole operation takes less than half an hour.
