-----------------BitMo™ VoxMo4™ ----------------
Mod Kit for the Vox AC4TV head or combo amp
Amp is not included
A new preamp tube is included (NOS JAN Philips 12AT7WC while supplies last).<></>
Works with both the head and combo versions of the amp.
I love Vox amps. I have been playing them for 40 years (ouch!) The AC4TV is a great amp and definitely sounds like a Vox.
The BitMo VoxMo4 mods do not try to make the amp into something else, just a bitmo better Vox. The kit includes a 12AT7 preamp tube. With this amp, I think it makes a huge difference, extends the range of the controls and smoothes everything out. The kit also adds a switch with 3 different voicings, making the amp much more versatile. The middle position is the (upgraded) stock configuration. The low position shifts toward a smooth treble, tightens the bass, increases the headroom and provides that “Vox jangle” perfect with your Rickenbacker 12 string for Byrds and Beatles. The 3rd position shifts the mid frequencies down and raises the gain a bit for a stout clean or overdrive that can go from crunch to chocolaty brown cello sound to a tight, biting boost – think Stones and Beatles. All 3 voicings are very touch sensitive and great across the full range of the volume control, going from warm or sparkly clean to balzout overdrive with lots of interesting shades in between, all with that magical Vox midrange.
Assumptions, warnings, etc:
· While these modifications are very easy to do but you will void your warrantee.
· Tools needed: screwdriver, knife, soldering iron, rosin core solder, wire stripper, needle nose pliers, drill and bits.
· I consider these mods to be of moderate complexity - not recommended for complete novices.
· Skills needed: be able to solder and drill a hole in the metal chassis. For advise on soldering techniques, check the web—for example:

I'm so thankful that you came up with this mod, and I found out about your mod on the les paul forum. I hated this little amp before and so regretted buying it. The paf's in my lp would break it up so quickly and the speaker was all farty. With your mod, I have tons more headroom especially on that one shimmery voice, and I can even run a keeley bd-2 and nova wah through it now without getting the farts! ha ha. I think this has made me decide to keep it and not sell it to a guy at work who wanted a deal. Thanks ever so much! I'll definitely promote you on a few of the various forums I'm on for this vox ac4tv mod! I see people bragging on your epiphone valve jr mods all the time, but not a lot of talk about this mod. I'll fix that. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks! - pappymoody12

This has been (I think) my sixth BITMO kit, and though quality has always been excellent, I believe you've outdone yourself on this one. Up until now, my favourite amps have been my Velocette, my AC306TBX with blue alnicos, and my BITMO modded Valve jr with the Brat pull top-boost and the Spanky. I have a new favourite. The AC4 though an alnico speaker with your mod kit sounds the best of anything I've heard for recording. Add to that the fact that with the voicing switch you can nail three classic Vox tones quickly and effortlessly! Initially, while the amp sounded good, it was a bit of a one-trick pony but this mod is a must have for anyone with an AC4 that wants it to be as good at three things as the stock amp is at one or anyone that wants to run a guitar with humbuckers through it. A great assortment of tones from U2 chime in the third position to Queen harmonic distortion.
